Undantagslov gör att förlossningarna vid centralsjukhuset i Kemi kan fortsätta
Social- och hälsovårdsministeriet har beviljat samkommunen för Länsi-Pohja sjukvårdsdistrikt undantagslov för att fortsätta förlossningsverksamheten vid centralsjukhuset i Kemi.
Centralsjukhuset i Kemi får fortsätta med sin förlossningsverksamhet till och med den 31 december 2020. Sjukhuset är Fastlandsfinlands minsta förlossningssjukhus, och antalet förlossningar där har minskat under de senaste åren. Sjukhuset har två gånger tidigare beviljats undantagslov för förlossningar.
Enligt en förordning av statsrådet ska ett sjukhus som sköter förlossningar sköta åtminstone cirka 1 000 förlossningar per år. Social- och hälsovårdsministeriet kan dock bevilja tillstånd att avvika från antalet förlossningar, om det behövs för tillgängligheten till tjänsten eller för patientsäkerheten.
Hela Norra Finland måste stärka samarbetet i organiseringen av förlossningsverksamheten
Den period som undantag har beviljats för, 2019–2020, är avsedd för att stärka samarbetsstrukturerna och omorganisera förlossningsverksamheten i Norra Finland. Samarbetet i området måste stärkas, och det måste lösas hur personaltillgången och kompetensen kan tryggas på bästa möjliga sätt med tanke på hela befolkningen i landskapet Lappland och specialupptagningsområdet för Uleåborgs universitetssjukhus.
Social- och hälsovårdsministeriet förutsätter att områdets sjukvårdsdistrikt (Norra Österbottens, Länsi-Pohja och Lapplands sjukvårdsdistrikt) upprättar en plan för organiseringen av och produktionsstrukturen för förlossningsverksamheten i landskapet samt en tidsplan för genomförandet av den. Planen ska godkännas av specialupptagningsområdet och lämnas in till social- och hälsovårdsministeriet senast den 31 december 2019.
