Alle 18-vuotiaiden käynnit solariumeissa halutaan lopettaa
Alle 18-vuotiaiden solariumin käytön valvontaan ehdotetaan tiukennuksia. Tarkoituksena on, että jatkossa solariumpalvelujen tuottajat velvoitettaisiin huolehtimaan, etteivät alle 18-vuotiaat pääse käyttämään solariumlaitteita ja täten altistumaan solariumin haitalliselle UV-säteilylle.
Hallitus päätti asiaa koskevan lakiesityksen sisällöstä 21. joulukuuta. Tasavallan presidentin on tarkoitus antaa esitys eduskunnalle torstaina.
Lisäksi esityksen mukaan solariumin käyttöpaikalla pitäisi jatkossa olla asianmukaisesti perehdytetty henkilö, joka opastaisi asiakkaan solariumin käyttöön ja antaisi tietoa solariumin UV-säteilyn vaikutuksista. Käytännössä tämä tarkoittaisi sitä, että myös itsepalveluperiaatteella toimivissa solariumeissa paikalla olisi oltava asiakkaita opastava henkilö.
Lain soveltamisalan ulkopuolelle jäisivät lääkärin määräämät UV-säteilylle altistavat toimenpiteet ja niiden suorittaminen.
Nykyinen asetustasoinen solariumien 18 vuoden ikärajasuositus ei riitä, sillä erityisesti lapsilla ja nuorilla altistuminen solariumin UV-säteilylle lisää ihosyöpäriskiä. Riskin kasvuun vaikuttaa etenkin liika kerta-altistuminen ja ihon palaminen. Alle 35 vuoden iässä aloitettu säännöllinen solariumin käyttö lisää melanoomariskiä jopa 75 prosenttia.
Suomessa on arviolta noin tuhat paikkaa, jotka tarjoavat ihon ruskettamista solariumeissa. Tyypillisesti solariumit sijaitsevat esimerkiksi kuntosalien, uimahallien ja kauneushoitoloiden yhteydessä.
Lait tulisivat voimaan 1. heinäkuuta 2012. Palveluntuottajien tulisi viimeistään 1.1.2013 asettaa näkyvästi esille tiedot solariumlaitteen UV-säteilylle altistumisen vaaroista. Kolmen vuoden sisällä lain voimaantulemisesta heidän tulisi myös järjestää toimipisteisiinsä asiakkaiden iän tarkastaminen sekä opastusta antava vastuuhenkilö.
