Minister Räty till Singapore
Social- och hälsovårdsminister Laura Räty reser till ett ministermöte i hälsovårdsbranschen i Singapore den 9-11 februari. Mötets tema är hälsovårdens täckning och tillgänglighet på lika villkor och till rimligt pris. Under resan främjas också den finska exporten i hälsovårds- och omsorgsbranschen, och ministern åtföljs av en grupp företag som är specialiserade på åldrande och hälsoteknologi.
Finland och Singapore har många gemensamma utmaningar, till exempel den åldrande befolkningen. Av Finlands befolkning är var femte över 63 år. I Singapore kommer för sin del 20 procent av befolkningen att vara över 65 år 2030. Sålunda är behovet av nya innovationer som utnyttjar hälsoteknologi stor, i synnerhet som man vill stöda äldre att bo hemma så länge som möjligt.
Målet med resans exportfrämjande Team Finland -del är att sprida kännedom om den finska kompetensen i hälsovårds- och omsorgsbranschen i Singapore. Den mångsidiga företagsgruppen representerar finländsk toppkompetens inom hälso- och omsorgsbranschen. Även om Finland har profilerat sig som ett land med hög hälsoteknologi, där hälsovården är högklassig och effektiv, är det mycket vi måste förbättra i exportfrämjandet jämfört med våra konkurrentländer Sverige och Tyskland.
"På den internationella marknaden är Finland en spelare bland andra. Vi måste fungera som ett lag för att kunna locka investeringar till Finland och samtidigt locka mera handel utomlands för finska företag.", betonar minister Räty.
Under resan träffar minister Räty också Singapores hälsovårdsminister Gan Kim Yong och arbetsministerns statssekreterare Hawazi Daipi. Teman för de bilaterala mötena är bland annat utmaningarna som den åldrande befolkningen medför. Också Internationella arbetsorganisationen ILO:s nya program diskuteras. Dess mål är att hjälpa utvecklingsländerna att förbättra arbetsförhållandena samt minska riskerna för olyckor och yrkessjukdomar. Finland deltar i programmet som grundande medlem.
I mötet deltar minister Räty också i en paneldiskussion om de äldres hemvård. I uppnåendet av en jämlik och omfattande hälsovård till rimligt pris betonar Finland den roll som tjänsterna och förebyggandet intar.
"I Finland vill vi stöda ett hälsosamt åldrande med högklassiga tjänster i rätt tid. Det är också viktigt att utveckla teknologin som en del av stödet av livet. Det är både ett humant och värdefullt alternativ att äldre människor kan bo hemma så länge som möjligt och dessutom en inbesparing för samhället", säger minister Räty.
