23.6.2022 | The EU has extended the regulation on the EU Digital COVID Certificate by one year until 30 June 2023. The regulation will ensure free movement in the EU even if the COVID-19 situation deteriorates in the future. All travellers should still check beforehand whether their country of destination requires the certificate upon arrival or for using services.

8.7.2021 | A total of 1,282 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Finland between 28 June and 4 July. During the previous week the corresponding figure was around 960. 4.9.2020 | In recent weeks, there has been discussion about whether a full communicable disease allowance should be paid to people who may have been exposed to coronavirus because of their own actions. This type of situation may occur, for example, when people travel to countries where the coronavirus situation is worse than in Finland or when people attend public events.

4.3.2021 | Over the past two weeks, the number of new COVID-19 cases reported in Finland has been significantly higher than before, and the number has continued to increase at an alarming rate despite the restrictions. In fact, during the latest reporting period (22–28 February), Finland recorded the highest number of new cases since the start of the epidemic. 28.12.2017 | Den nya alkohollagen, som varit under beredning en längre tid, träder i sin helhet i kraft den 1 mars 2018. En del av ändringarna träder dock i kraft redan den 1 januari 2018. Alkohollagen sammanfattar på ett heltäckande sätt de tidigare 13 förordningar som utfärdats med stöd av den gamla lagen. I den nya lagen har man i hög grad gallrat normer som är föråldrade och förlegade. Republikens president stadfäste alkohollagen den 28 december.

19.12.2017 | Riksdagen röstade om alkohollagen den 19 december. Riksdagens svar om alkohollagen avses bli behandlat efter jul vid statsrådets allmänna sammanträde torsdagen den 28 december. Avsikten är att republikens president stadfäster lagen samma dag. Social- och hälsovårdsministeriet informerar närmare om alkohollagen efter statsrådets sammanträde den 28 december.

8.12.2016 | Från ingången av 2017 har Folkpensionsanstalten ansvaret för beviljande och utbetalning av grundläggande utkomststöd. Kompletterande och förebyggande utkomststöd beviljas dock även i fortsättningen av kommunen. Eftersom både Folkpensionsanstalten och kommunerna i fortsättningen har behörighet i fråga om utkomststödet, kommer även ansöknings- och myndighetsprocesserna i anslutning till utkomststödet att preciseras från ingången av nästa år.
