Where to get help for victims of recent data breach at Psychotherapy Centre Vastaamo — a list of key organisations providing help

A number of different organisations provide help to data breach victims. Below you will find a list of the key organisations in Finland. It is also important to report the offence to the police. It is enough if you file the report within the next few days.

On the website of Victim Support Finland, you will find clear guidelines on what to do if your personal data has been stolen.

The Digital and Population Data Services Agency and the Cyber Security Centre have compiled questions and answers on their websites for victims of an identity theft or a data leak.

The police provide guidance on how to report an offence in their own press release.

The contact information of the crisis centre in your own municipality of residence is available on the website of the municipality in question or by calling directory enquiry services. The crisis centres are always open around the clock.

Helplines

The Victim Support Finland helpline (RIKU) at +358 116 006 is exceptionally open on Sunday 25 October at 13–17. Victims of the recent data breach at Psychotherapy Centre Vastaamo can contact Victim Support Finland for conversational support and information about the criminal procedure. Both the victims and their families can call the service. Calling the service is free of charge. 

The helpline of the Finnish Red Cross is open at +358 800 100 200. The helpline provides crisis assistance to victims of the recent data breach. The service is free of charge, and it is provided in Finnish. Starting on Monday, you can call the helpline at 9–21. Saturdays and Sundays at 12-18.

Red Cross volunteers trained in psychological support answer calls to the helpline. All calls are completely confidential.
