Försökets mål är att utreda hur digital vård, till exempel evidensbaserade digitala terapiformer och program för egenvård, kan erbjudas med stöd av offentliga medel. Tillverkare av program och apparater kan ansöka om att få delta i försöket 5.6–6.8. 2025. Avsikten är att välja ett tiotal aktörer till försöket.

24.4.2025 | Yrkesutbildade personer inom hälso- och sjukvården i landskapet Nyland ska med iakttagande av patientens dataskydd också i fortsättningen ha åtkomst till uppgifter som är väsentliga för patientsäkerheten.

12.5.2025 | Det föreslås att bestämmelsen om livsskeden ska tas in i lagen om funktionshinderservice igen. Syftet med det är att lagen om funktionshinderservice ska förbli en speciallag som garanterar tjänsterna för personer med funktionsnedsättning. Samtidigt föreslås det att det tilläggsanslag på cirka 20 miljoner euro som tidigare vid behandlingen i riksdagen har reserverats för eventuella behov ska slopas eftersom det inte längre behövs.

Enhetskostnaderna beskriver de genomsnittliga kostnaderna för de olika social- och hälsovårdstjänsterna i hela landet. Informationen ger ett nytt omfattande kunskapsunderlag för välfärdsområdenas och statens kunskapsbaserade ledning.

8.8.2025 | The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health proposes appropriations of EUR 14.8 billion for the Ministry and its branch of government for 2026. This is about EUR 475 million less than in the 2025 Budget. The funding of wellbeing services counties is not included in the appropriations for the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health and its branch of government. Instead, it falls under the main title of the Ministry of Finance.

18.5.2022 | A research project entitled Working careers and occupational segregation behind the gender pay gap, which is funded by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, studies the career development of women and men and changes in occupational structures in light of long-term statistical data. In particular, it examines how career changes and changes in duties are connected to the gender pay gap.

9.7.2020 | The amendments made to the Communicable Diseases Act enable the development of a mobile application that helps break the chains of coronavirus (COVID-19) transmission more effectively. The Government submitted the bill amending the Communicable Diseases Act for approval and the President of the Republic approved the bill on Thursday 9 July. The Act amending the Communicable Diseases Act will enter into force on 31 August 2020.

11.6.2020 | The Government proposes amendments to the Communicable Diseases Act that enable the development of an information system for contacting people who may have been exposed to coronavirus (COVID-19). The information system would consist of a mobile application and a back-end system with the goal of supporting the management of the coronavirus epidemic.

23.11.2023 | The Spanish Presidency of the Council of the EU will hold an informal ministerial meeting on equality in Pamplona on 23–24 November 2023. Minister of Social Security Sanni Grahn-Laasonen will represent Finland at the meeting. The meeting will focus on violence against women.

2.12.2021 | The number of new COVID-19 cases continues to rise in Finland. More than 8,000 new COVID-19 cases were reported between 22 and 28 November, which is more than 500 cases higher than in the previous week. The incidence of new COVID-19 cases over the last two-week period (15–28 November) was 279 per 100,000 inhabitants. Between 1 and 14 November the incidence of new cases was 201 per 100,000 inhabitants.

8.12.2020 | The Government proposes that wellbeing services counties be established and healthcare, social welfare and rescue services be reformed. The proposed counties would be established as soon as possible after the passing and approval of the relevant bills. The bills would enter into force in stages, the first ones on 1 July 2021 and the last ones on 1 January 2023. However, Parliament needs to pass the legislative package before the reform can enter into force.
