10.3.2022 | The virus that causes COVID-19 continues to circulate through the population. However, vaccines provide effective protection against severe forms of the disease. It is particularly important that people aged 60 or over and those belonging to risk groups get a third vaccine dose. As the restrictions are eased, the focus will be on people’s own measures to prevent the spread of infections.

31.1.2022 | From February 2022 onwards, EU COVID-19 vaccination certificates will be accepted for travel purposes for a period of nine months since the administration of the last dose of the primary vaccination series. As of yet, no acceptance period will apply to certificates issued following the administration of booster doses.

The burden on inpatient specialised healthcare remains high. The burden on inpatient primary healthcare is also increasing rapidly. Vaccines provide good protection against the most serious forms of COVID-19. For this reason, it is particularly important that people aged 60 or over and those belonging to risk groups get a third dose.

The programme will use vaccines against SARS-CoV-2 that have been granted marketing authorisation in the European Union. It will be deployed once vaccines arrive in Finland. The decree will enter into force on 23 December 2020. Vaccination for COVID-19 is voluntary.

13.4.2023 | The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health has prepared an amendment to a decree by which COVID-19 caused by coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 would no longer be classified as a generally hazardous communicable disease. In future, it would be defined as a monitored communicable disease. Comments are to be submitted by 5 May 2023.

21.6.2023 | The Regulation on the EU Digital COVID Certificate will expire on 30 June 2023. In future, the Certificate will no longer be used jointly by the EU Member States. People can still get the EU Digital COVID Certificate from the MyKanta online service if they need one.

22.12.2021 | From now on, biomedical laboratory scientists and practical nurses will be entitled to administer COVID-19 vaccines. Vaccinations will be offered to people who are 5 years of age or older, and the order of vaccination priority will be abandoned. On Wednesday 22 December, the Government decided to amend sections 2 and 3 of the Government Decree on Voluntary COVID-19 Vaccinations.

20.12.2022 | Statsrådet fattade idag beslut om att vaccin mot covid-19 ska överlåtas till aktörer inom den privata hälso- och sjukvården. Avsikten med beslutet är att även andra personer än de som riskerar att allvarligt insjukna i covid-19 ska kunna bli vaccinerade.

19.1.2023 | I fortsättningen kan vacciner mot covid-19 erbjudas till barn som är sex månader gamla eller äldre. Statsrådet godkände ändringen i förordningen den 19 januari. Hittills har åldersgränsen för vaccinerna mot covid-19 varit 5 år.

21.6.2023 | Förordningen om EU:s digitala covidintyg upphör att gälla den 30 juni 2023. I fortsättningen är covidintyget inte längre gemensamt för EU-länderna. Intyget fås fortfarande från Kanta-tjänsten, om det finns behov för det.

9.12.2022 | Social- och hälsovårdsministeriet begär utlåtande om en förordningsändring enligt vilken det ska bli möjligt att erbjuda vaccination mot covid-19 till barn som fyllt 6 år. I den gällande förordningen är åldersgränsen 5 år för vaccinationer mot covid-19. Remisstiden går ut den 5 januari 2023.

20.12.2022 | Ersättningarna för coronavaccinationer enligt sjukförsäkringslagen betalas ut till utgången av juni 2023. Ersättningarna gäller också coronatestning. Rätten att få ersättning gäller de sjukförsäkrade personer som bor eller arbetar i Finland.
