Statistics on social welfare and health care services
The Sotkanet statistical database contains comprehensive statistical information and indicators, for example on the welfare and health of the population. The online service provides long time series of the entire country by region and municipality.
Apart from information provided by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare, the service includes information from Statistics Finland and the Social Insurance Institution. The service also includes key information on the population and health of European countries.
The Statistics Finland website contains links to all the 300-plus Official Statistics of Finland (OSF). While the majority of OSF statistics are compiled by Statistics Finland, these also include OSF statistics compiled by other information providers.
The Social Insurance Institution's 25 sets of statistics offer details on the rates and incidence of benefits, and their distribution by region and population group. The statistics are classified according to subject area (relating to specific stages of life).
The Finnish Medicines Agency publishes the statistical publication Finnish Statistics on Medicines, containing information on medicinal use and the medicine reimbursement system. The Finnish Medicines Agency website contains information on medicinal products and their use, and is designed for health care professionals.
The Finnish Patient Insurance Centre contains information on patient injury notices and compensation.
