Social, health and population statistics by municipality
The Sotkanet statistical database includes comprehensive statistical information and indicators on social and health care services and their costs. The online service includes long term series for the whole country, by region, and by municipality. Apart from information provided by the Finnish Institute Health and Welfare, the service includes information from Statistics Finland and the Social Insurance Institution. Sotkanet also includes key information from European nations.
The Institute for Health and Welfare’s database reports allow users to choose appropriate sections in the data. The database reports also include summaries of the key data for a topic.
The Statistics Finland website contains links to all the roughly 250 Official Statistics of Finland (OSF). While the majority of OSF statistics are compiled by Statistics Finland, these also include OSF statistics compiled by other information providers. Among other things, the social protection statistics include links to Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare material.
Statistics on medicinal products
The Finnish Medicines Agency Fimea’s online service contains data and instructions on medicinal products for both human and animal use. The Fimea website also contains information and publications about medicinal products.
Functioning of social and health care services
The Patient Insurance Centre website contains statistics on patient injuries. The Patient Insurance Centre compiles data on patient injuries and regularly publishes statistics on the number, geographical distribution and type of patient injuries.
