Goals and results
The aim is to change the perspective of working life on mental health and to encourage and enable better utilisation of occupational health care expertise in developing the work community and management at workplaces. A further goal is to shift the focus of mental health support to preventive and resource-enhancing activities at workplaces.
The Mental health support at workplaces – a generic model for occupational health cooperation sub-project (sub-project 1) involves creating an operating model for occupational health collaboration supporting mental work ability and mental health at workplaces and occupational health care services. The model emphasises the principles of cooperation, competence and prevention.
The mental health support methods and approaches for occupational health cooperation sub-project (sub-project 2) disseminates previously developed methods and approaches for supporting mental health that have been assessed as effective.
The purpose of the impact study (sub-project 3) is to support the implementation of sub-projects 1 and 2 and to assess the results of these projects. The impact study also includes assessing the impact of communications.
The purpose of the communication project (sub-project 4) is to reduce the stigma associated with mental health and mental health issues, and to support workplaces in changing their operating culture.
Starting points
Mielenterveys on yhä tärkeämpi työkyvyn osatekijä työelämässä.
Additional information
Varhaisen tuen ja työkyvyn ongelmien ennaltaehkäisyn avulla voidaan työuria pidentää ja siten vaikuttaa työllisyysasteen kasvuun. Työelämän mielenterveysohjelmassa kehitetään myös uusi mielenterveyden tuen malli työterveysyhteistyöhön ja toteutetaan viestintäkampanja, jonka tarkoituksena on vähentää mielenterveysongelmiin liittyviä haitallisia uskomuksia. Toimenpiteiden vaikuttavuutta seurataan tutkimuksen avulla.
The operational programme for working life and good mental health will be launched in 2021. The activities begin with the Mielenterveyden tuen työkalut (‘Tool kit for mental health support’) project. The goal is to compile a tool kit from which workplaces can pick the tools that best suit them free of charge. The programme contains four sub-projects. A steering group is set up to monitor, evaluate and support the progress of the programme.
