16.4.2026 | The Government proposes amendments to the Act on Child Home Care Allowances and Private Childcare Allowances. The proposal would implement the Norwegian model for child home care allowance. The proposal seeks to promote the integration and labour market position of women with an immigrant background and to increase the participation of children in early childhood education and care.

The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health’s assessment of the combined impacts of government proposals, taking into account fundamental and human rights. The assessment memorandums are prepared annually as part of official duties and published in the Government Project Register Hankeikkuna.

8.8.2025 | Social- och hälsovårdsministeriet föreslår ett anslag på 14,8 miljarder euro för sitt förvaltningsområde år 2026. Det är cirka 475 miljoner euro mindre än den ordinarie budgeten för 2025. Den finansiering för välfärdsområdena som hör till finansministeriets huvudtitel ingår inte i anslagen för social- och hälsovårdsministeriets förvaltningsområde.

I denna proposition föreslås det att det stiftas en ny lag om funktionshinderservice. Den föreslagna lagen om funktionshinderservice ska innehålla bestämmelser om särskilda tjänster inom socialvården för personer med funktionsnedsättning. Lagen kompletterar socialvårdslagen som tillämpas som allmän lag i fråga om tjänster inom socialvården.

Social- och hälsovårdsministeriet beviljar statsunderstöd för flera projekt för utveckling av social- och hälsovården enligt regeringsprogrammet och för annat inom ramen för statsbudgeten.

Lagändringen stadfästes av statsrådet och republikens president den 30 december 2025, och den träder i kraft den 1 januari 2026.
