Otto Köngäs to serve as Special Adviser to Minister Kiuru
Otto Köngäs took up his duties as Special Adviser to Minister of Family Affairs and Social Services Krista Kiuru on 16 December 2022. He will be responsible for issues involving alcohol and drugs, mental health, and services for older people and people with disabilities and children and young people.
Köngäs has previously worked as Special Adviser to the Deputy Mayor of Helsinki and as a training coordinator. Köngäs holds a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Jenny Suominen and Petteri Nurmi will continue as special advisers to the Minister of Family Affairs and Social Services. Special Adviser Suominen's areas of responsibility are communications and media relations, the healthcare system, the health and social services reform, maximum waiting times for access to care, and matters covered by the Ministerial Working Group on Coordinating COVID-19 Response. Special Adviser Nurmi’s areas of responsibility are social assistance, international affairs and rehabilitation.
