The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health has published a strategy for digitalisation and information management in healthcare and social welfare.
Maximum client fees in healthcare and social welfare to increase by 10 per cent

The maximum amounts of client fees in healthcare and social welfare will increase by 10 per cent from the beginning of 2024. Client fees are adjusted every two years in accordance with the change in the national pension index. Because the national pension index has risen by around 10 per cent between 2021 and 2023, the maximum client fees will be increased by an equal amount.

Mika Salminen, Doctor of Philosophy, has been appointed Director General of the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) for the period of 1 January 2024–31 December 2028. A total of 17 candidates applied for the post of Director General by the closing date. The Director General is appointed by the Government for a period of five years at a time.
