The WHO Member States have agreed to extend negotiations on a pandemic treaty for up to a year. The decision to continue the negotiations was made at the World Health Assembly on 1 June. However, an agreement was reached on a package of amendments to the International Health Regulations (IHR). The negotiations on them were thus finalised.

Amendments have been made to the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health Decree on Vaccinations and to the Government Decree on Voluntary COVID-19 Vaccinations in order to allow dentists, senior pharmacists, pharmacists, practical nurses and biomedical laboratory scientists to administer vaccines in future. The aim of the amendments is to accelerate the administration of seasonal vaccines in particular and alleviate the shortage of healthcare personnel. The amendments will enter into force on 1 May 2024.

The Ministry of Social Affairs and Heath published a revised National Pandemic Preparedness Plan for Healthcare and Social Welfare, which aims to promote health security and combat the effects of pandemics on people and society.
