Minister Risikko: Reaching the agreement in the interests of all
The salary agreement approved for the Union of Health and Social Care Professionals, Tehy, on Monday 19 November is in the interests of all Finns. It was important to reach a solution before the mass resignations would have started,” said the Minister of Health and Social Services Paula Risikko on Monday in Helsinki.
“There is hard work of several weeks behind of preparations for an industrial action. Despite the difficult situation the attitude in the field towards precautions and enforcement of the Patient Safety Act has mostly been matter-of-fact,” said Risikko.
In her opinion it is now vital that the work of the hospitals will be normalised as soon as possible.
“This is important not only from the point of view of the patients but also of the working atmosphere at the hospitals. What has happened in the last few weeks may have exacerbated relations at the personal level at hospitals, but I hope that the situation will be talked over in a constructive atmosphere,” said Risikko.
