The introduction of timeframes for access to healthcare, which took effect earlier this year, have made it easier for patients to have immediate contact their local health centres and get access to treatment within three days. In September, the MSAH and STAKES surveyed the views of health centre doctors on the application of the new regulations.
Though the question of speedy access has improved significantly, problems remain in some localities. Overall, health centres have managed to stick to the timeframes, but some 43% of the population live in areas where access to non-urgent healthcare takes about a week.
