The National Agency for Medicines has issued its findings on the lowering of the wholesale price of medicines charged by pharmaceutical companies to dispensing chemists. The report comes in the wake of allegations concerning malpractice in the granting of wholesale price reductions.
The NAM found that the law on medicines had not been broken in price agreements between drugs companies and chemists.
The ministry is currently preparing changes to legislation to ensure that wholesale prices of medicines are the same for all dispensing chemists and that price reductions benefit the consumer.
