Vivikka Richt appointed as Director of Communications Unit at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health
On Thursday 26 March, the Government appointed Vivikka Richt to the post of Director of Communications Unit at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health. She will take up her duties on 1 May 2020.
Vivikka Richt has worked as Director of Communications at the City of Kerava since autumn 2018. In autumn 2019, she also managed the communications of the rapporteur dealing with potential special arrangements for health and social services in Helsinki-Uusimaa region in the future. In 2018, Richt worked as Head of Communications and Marketing at the City of Riihimäki. In 2014–2018, she served as Head of Communications at the National Gallery, in 2010–2014 as Head of Communications for the Mayor of the City of Vantaa, and in 1997–2010 as a news and current affairs editor and producer at the Finnish Broadcasting Company and abroad. Richt has completed the degree of Master of Science (European Communication).
The Commucications Unit of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health is in charge of the internal and external information and communications of the Ministry and the related work with stakeholders. The Ministry's communications activities support the objectives laid down by the Ministry's strategy and the Government Programme.
The Director of the Communications Unit leads the unit and serves as a management specialist in the planning, implementation and coordination of communications and stakeholder work. The Director of the Communications Unit is responsible for planning strategic communications and ensuring that the Ministry's communications and stakeholder work support the effectiveness of the activities.
