The organisation of demanding specialised hospital care is to be centralised under new legislation approved by the government and ratified by the State President, 21 December.
Such healthcare includes treatment provided at a university hospital or corresponsing level of institution.
The new legislation upgrades Social Affairs and Health Ministry guidelines specialised hospital care treatment to provide a more centralised and coordinated service formerly provided by a range of clinical units. The legislation on centralisation aims both to improve the efficiency of specialised care and ensure a better use of resources.
