Juha Rehula new Minister of Social Affairs and Health
The President of the Republic has appointed Mr Juha Rehula as the new Minister of Social Affairs and Health and on the same occasion released Ms Liisa Hyssälä from her duties as a Member of the Government. Rehula is a fourth-term Member of Parliament from Hollola, and during the current parliamentary term he has acted as the chair of the Parliament's Social Affairs and Health Committee. Rehula has a Bachelor's degree in Social Services. The new minister starts work immediately at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health.
After the change of ministers, the Government agreed on the ministers' deputies and division of duties. Ms Eeva Kuuskoski will continue as State Secretary to the Minister of Social Affairs and Health. Also Ms Annika Saarikko, Special Adviser to Minister Hyssälä, continues as Special Adviser to the new Minister of Social Affairs and Health.
President Halonen appointed Liisa Hyssälä as General Director of the Social Insurance Institution of Finland as of 1 October 2010.
