112 Day-learning to identify everyday dangerous situations
The 11 th of February is the national emergency number day, i.e. the 112 Day. Its aim is to encourage people to identify dangerous situations and prevent accidents in schools, at home and in leisure activities. The purpose is also to instruct people how to act promptly and responsibly in possible emergency situations.
The campaign is now arranged in Finland for the sixteenth time. This year the theme is Everyday Hero. The Day is arranged by the Emergency Response Centre Administration, rescue services, the police, social and health care services, education services and emergency response centres. The patrons of the 112 Day are the Minister of Social Affairs and Health Paula Risikko and the Minister of the Interior Päivi Räsänen.
