Pasi Korhonen New Director of International Affairs at MSAH
The International Affairs Unit develops, plans and coordinates international affairs in the Ministry's administrative sector.
The International Affairs Unit deals with matters regarding the Ministry's representation in international cooperation bodies. In addition to this the unit also coordinates relevant activities in particular within the EU, Nordic cooperation bodies, UN bodies, the Council of Europe and the OECD.
The International Affairs Unit is also responsible for bilateral agreements between Finland and other countries in the field of social welfare and health care and for their implementation.
Previously Mr Korhonen has worked as an expert on social policy at Finland's permanent representation to the European Union in Brussels, where he was in charge of social security, cooperation within social security, occupational safety and equality.
Due to Korhonens new position the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland is now looking for a new specialist on social policy for a position Brussels. The new specialist will be appointed to office 1.6.2014.
