On 12 March at 4 p.m., EU health ministers will hold a video meeting due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation
EU health ministers will hold a video meeting on Friday 12 March to discuss the situation caused by the novel coronavirus. Minister of Family Affairs and Social Services Krista Kiuru will represent Finland in the meeting.
The EU health ministers will discuss integrated situational awareness reports and related monitoring and assessment.
Due to the coronavirus situation, the EU health ministers have held two extraordinary meetings. They held an extraordinary meeting already on 13 February 2020 when they adopted Council conclusions on EU response and coordination due to the threat caused by the novel coronavirus disease.
As the previous meetings, this meeting will be attended by representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO), the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), the European Medicines Agency (EMA), the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety (DG Sante) and the Commission’s other Directorate-Generals.
