The sub-committees on EU affairs are part of the Government’s coordination system for EU affairs. They prepare Finland’s positions on matters to be discussed in the EU and coordinate the views of different ministries, authorities and stakeholders.
The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health is responsible for six sub-committees. These sub-committees prepare EU matters falling within the Ministry’s mandate in cooperation with other ministries, authorities and stakeholders. EU matters at the Ministry are coordinated by the International Affairs Unit. The Ministry’s departments are responsible for EU affairs in their respective areas of responsibility.
