Benefits for front veterans and war veterans
Women and men who served in Finnish wars are entitles as war veterans to certain special state benefits.
Veterans' benefits are intended to support living at home and facilitate procuring services for home use.
The MSAH is responsible for preparing legislation concerning veterans' benefits and for preparing budgets for these benefits.
Front veterans' supplement
The front veterans' supplement and additional front veterans' supplement is paid to veterans living in Finland who have a service badge awarded to front veterans and war veterans, including to women veterans.
The additional front veterans' supplement is paid to those who receive the front veterans supplement and a national pension. The supplements are intended to help cover the costs of care and are intended for veterans whose functional capacity is significantly impaired.
The State Treasury provides compensation to disabled war veterans and their spouses, widows and other family members in accordance with the Military Injuries Act.
