Minister Mattila will attend the biggest health sector event of the Middle East
Pirkko Mattila, Minister of Social Affairs and Health, will lead Finnish companies’ Team Finland visit to Dubai from 29 January until 1 February. Minister Mattila will attend the Arab Health 2017 event together with a delegation of companies specialised in health technology and health services.
The biggest health sector event in the Middle East is expecting about 115 000 visitors. The exhibitors come from almost 40 countries. There is high demand for health expertise in the Middle East, for example regarding new healthcare data systems.
Finland’s strengths in the international market include a high level of expertise in technology and various health sector innovations. At the health event in Dubai, Finnish companies will have opportunities to present their products to international cooperation partners.
The aim of the Team Finland visit is to open doors for Finnish companies for trading on the growing market of the United Arab Emirates and its neighbouring regions. The growing population, urbanisation and good economic situation boost health sector investments in the area.
During the visit, Minister Mattila will also meet the health ministers of the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. The Ministers will discuss, among other topics, the possibilities for cooperation in the health sector and the joint challenges related, for example, to global health security.
