15.6.2026 | EU health ministers will convene for a meeting of the Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council (Health) on 16 June to discuss, among others, the proposed European Biotech Act I directive and regulation and the preparedness and readiness of the European pharmaceutical industry. Minister of Social Affairs and Health Wille Rydman will represent Finland at the meeting.

8.3.2024 | Minister of Employment Arto Satonen will represent Finland at the Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council meeting in Brussels on 11 March. The Platform Work Directive, which has been in preparation for a long time, will be the only legislative matter in the Council. The Directive aims to improve the working conditions of platform workers.

5.12.2019 | The Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council (EPSCO) will meet for the last time during Finland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union in Brussels on 9–10 December. Health ministers will meet on the first day, and ministers responsible for employment, social affairs and gender equality on the second day.

1.12.2020 | The health ministers of the European Union (EU) will hold an informal video conference on Wednesday 2 December to discuss the current COVID-19 situation and the EU Pharmaceutical Strategy. Minister of Family Affairs and Social Services Krista Kiuru will represent Finland at the conference.

24.10.2019 | The Council of the European Union adopted conclusions on the economy of wellbeing at the second Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council under Finland’s Presidency on 24 October. The meeting was chaired by Aino-Kaisa Pekonen, Minister of Social Affairs and Health, and Timo Harakka, Minister of Economic Affairs and Employment.

13.1.2021 | The EU health ministers will hold an informal videoconference on Wednesday 13 January. The theme of the conference will be the rollout of COVID-19 vaccinations in the EU Member States. Minister of Family Affairs and Social Services Krista Kiuru will represent Finland at the conference.

13.2.2020 | On Thursday 13 February, the EU health ministers met in Brussels for an extraordinary meeting of the Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council (EPSCO). The main theme of the meeting was the EU’s response to the novel coronavirus outbreak. Finland was represented by Minister of Family Affairs and Social Services Krista Kiuru.
