Ministry of Social Affairs and Health launches Suomi 100 grant programmes for organisations and foundations
The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health launches three new grant programmes to honour the centenary of Finland’s independence.
Social welfare and health organisations and foundations can apply for funding from the Suomi 100 grant programmes.
With these programmes, the Ministry wants to eliminate inequality and support equal opportunities. The grant programmes are funded from the proceeds from the gaming operations of the Finnish Slot Machine Association, which were not allocated before the Finnish Slot Machine Association, Veikkaus Oy and Fintoto merged into one company at the turn of the year.
The grant programmes will be in operation between 2017 and 2020. This year, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health will allocate €11 million to the programmes. It will allocate a total of €36–40 million to grant programmes celebrating the centenary.
The Funding Centre for Social Welfare and Health Organisations (STEA) operating under the Ministry will launch an additional call for grant applications on 20 February 2017. STEA will make a grant proposal for projects selected to the programmes to the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health in May. The Ministry will decide on the allocation of the grants in the summer.
The three new programmes are:
- Kaikille eväät elämään (‘Opportunities in life for everyone’) – a grant programme to reduce inequality
- Toimintakyky kuntoon ('Improving functional capacity') – a grant programme to improve the functional capacity of the working-age population
- Järjestö 2.0: mukana muutoksessa (‘Järjestö 2.0: joining the change’) – grant programme for equality in the digitalising operating environment
More information on the call for grant applications and the themes of the grant programmes is available on STEA’s website.
