Petteri Tiippana appointed Director General of the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority
On Thursday 15 November, the Finnish Government appointed Petteri Tiippana as Director General of the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority (STUK) starting 1 February 2019.
The appointment is for a fixed period until 31 January 2024.
Tiippana has served as Director General of the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority since autumn 2013. Prior to this, he served as Director of the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority and as Head of the Department of Nuclear Reactor Regulation since 2009. He has held various other supervisory and expert positions at the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority since 1997. Tiippana holds the degree of Master of Science in Technology.
The Director General is in charge of the operations of the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority and ensures that the Authority’s tasks are carried out economically, effectively and successfully.
