19.12.2016 | Easily available low threshold services can prevent violence in close relationships and break a vicious circle of violence as early as possible. Services must be equally available to all people, they must be free of charge and function around the clock, and the clients must be able to receive the services anonymously. The new 24-hour telephone service called Nollalinja was opened on 19 December for persons experiencing interpersonal violence and violence against women.

19.12.2017 | Over the coming years, violence against women and threat of violence will be prevented through more than 40 measures. This work will be carried out in several administrative branches together with non-governmental organisations. The objectives will be achieved, for example, by developing cooperation, support services for victims and treatment programmes aimed at perpetrators as well as by collecting data and compiling statistics in a more effective manner.
