Teresa Salminen appointed as Special Adviser to Minister Grahn-Laasonen
Minister of Social Security Sanni Grahn-Laasonen has invited Teresa Salminen, Master of Social Sciences, to serve as her Special Adviser. Salminen will deputise for Special Adviser Sakari Rokkanen during his family leave between 2 January and 31 July 2024.
Salminen will be responsible for matters covered by the Department for Insurance and Social Security, apart from unemployment security matters that fall within the purview of Minister of Employment Satonen. The duties of the Department include drafting acts and decrees related to social security, pensions and the insurance sector.
Salminen will transfer to the post of Special Adviser from the City of Helsinki, where she has served as Senior Political Adviser to Mayor Juhana Vartiainen. In that role, she has been responsible for matters covered by the Education Division and for health and social affairs. She has also been responsible for the Mayor’s communications and media relations. Before that, she worked as an expert at the Association of Finnish Local and Regional Authorities and in different project duties related to public affairs.
