Resilient and sustainable health systems for the future on the agenda at Tallinn Health Systems Conference
Estonia and the World Health Organization (WHO) will hold a conference on the development of health systems on 12-13 December 2023, where Finland will be represented by Minister of Social Affairs and Health Kaisa Juuso. In her speech, the Minister will address the economy of wellbeing, particularly the mutually supportive nature of both wellbeing policy measures and structures and the economy.
The Estonian Ministry of Social Affairs and the WHO Regional Office for Europe will organise a high-level health systems conference in Tallinn to commemorate 15 years of the Tallinn Charter: Health Systems for Health and Wealth. The theme of the conference is ‘Resilient and sustainable health systems for the future’. The conference aims to adopt a declaration on this.
Minister of Social Affairs and Health Kaisa Juuso will participate in a panel discussion on effective and efficient investments on Wednesday 13 December 2023.
Economy of wellbeing combines economy and wellbeing
The economy of wellbeing is a Finnish solution for developing economically sustainable health systems that promote public health and the wellbeing of residents.
“The economy of wellbeing is based on a stable economic policy and the promotion of people’s health and wellbeing. Financial investments in occupational health or the prevention of chronic diseases, for example, are investments that will pay themselves back. Preventive measures can reduce general government expenditure in the long term,” says Minister Juuso.
