EU health ministers to meet on 6 March to discuss COVID-19 outbreak
EU health ministers will hold an extraordinary meeting on Friday 6 March to discuss the latest developments regarding the COVID-19 outbreak caused by the novel coronavirus. Minister of Family Affairs and Social Services Krista Kiuru will represent Finland in the meeting.
The EU health ministers will discuss integrated situational awareness reports and related monitoring and assessment. The Croatian Presidency of the Council of the European Union has prepared questions to guide the ministers’ discussion.
The health ministers held an extraordinary meeting already on 13 February 2020 when they adopted Council conclusions on EU response and coordination due to the threat caused by the novel coronavirus disease.
The Council meeting on 6 March will also be attended by representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO), the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety (DG Sante) and the European Medicines Agency (EMA).
