Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Tavio to visit Japan

Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio will visit Japan on 9–12 June 2025 as a member of the official delegation of the President of the Republic, Alexander Stubb. In Japan, Minister Tavio will visit Tokyo and Osaka.

The purpose of the visit is to strengthen bilateral relations between Finland and Japan and promote cooperation between Finnish and Japanese companies.

In Tokyo, Minister Ville Tavio will meet key representatives of the Japanese government. The agenda of the discussions includes topical questions related to economy, trade, technology cooperation and economic security.

In Osaka, Minister Tavio will visit EXPO 2025 and participate in Finland’s EXPO national day celebrations on 12 June.

“Japan is one of our most important trade partners outside Europe and a key player in the global economy. Finland’s country image in Japan is already excellent, and it can be further strengthened as we participate in the World Expo in Osaka together with the other Nordic countries,” Minister Tavio says.
