It is intended for everyone working with or interested in gender equali
 ty issues\, including policymakers\, public officials\, researchers\, st
udents and specialists in labour market organisations\, CSOs\, the priva
te sector and projects.\n \n\nThe objectives of the event are to:\n \n \
n bring together actors promoting gender equality \n share information \
n exchange experiences \n discuss the goals of promoting gender equality
\n develop coordination and working methods in gender equality efforts
\n enhance participants’ own expertise. \n \n\nAt the Gender Equality Da
ys\, gender equality refers to equal rights and opportunities for people
of all genders\, as well as equality in outcomes — such as the fair dis
tribution of power and resources. The event’s concept of gender equality
includes gender diversity and recognises that\, in addition to gender\,
other differences also affect a person’s position in society (intersect
ionality).\n \n\nEquality as a basic right\, as understood in the contex
t of the event\, means that all people are of equal value regardless of
 their gender\, age\, ethnic or national origin\, nationality\, language\
 , religion or belief\, opinion\, disability\, state of health\, sexual o
 rientation\, or any other personal characteristic.\n \nPrinciples for a
Safer Space \n\nThe goal is for everyone to be able to participate in th
e event safely and as their authentic selves\, without fear of inappropr
iate treatment or harassment. A safe social space is created through mut
ual interaction\, and every participant at the Gender Equality Days shar
es responsibility for maintaining it. \n \n\nBy registering\, participan
ts commit to the following principles:\n \n \n Respect others' experienc
es and self-identification. \n Be open and listen. Do not make assumptio
ns about someone’s identity\, experiences\, thoughts or situation. \n Do
not generalize your own experience as being universal. \n Do not harass
anyone verbally\, physically\, or by staring. Stop or change your behav
iour if someone asks you to. \n Do not make insulting remarks about anyo
ne\, whether they be present or absent. It is possible to debate and dis
agree without offending anyone personally. \n If you encounter behaviour
that violates the principles\, reach out to the host\, organisers\, or
other participants. \n \n\nThe organisers are responsible for the safety
of the event\, and you can ask them for help in resolving situations. O
rganisers and harrassment contact persons are introduced at the beginnin
g of the event. \n \n\nA person who violates these principles may be ask
ed to leave the event venue if they do not correct their behaviour after
  a warning.\n \nContact \n\nIf you have questions regarding the event\,
 please contact the organisers tasy.stm@gov.fi.\n \n\n- - -\n \nTasa-arvo

</a>About the Gender Equality Days</h2> \n<p>The Gender Equality Days is
the main annual event in the field of gender equality in Finland. It is
intended for everyone working with or interested in gender equality iss
 ues\, including policymakers\, public officials\, researchers\, students
and specialists in labour market organisations\, CSOs\, the private sec
tor and projects.</p> \n<p>The objectives of the event are to:</p> \n<ul
 > \n <li>bring together actors promoting gender equality</li> \n <li>sha
 re information</li> \n <li>exchange experiences</li> \n <li>discuss the
goals of promoting gender equality</li> \n <li>develop coordination and
working methods in gender equality efforts</li> \n <li>enhance participa
nts’ own expertise.</li> \n</ul> \n<p>At the Gender Equality Days\, gend
er equality refers to equal rights and opportunities for people of all g
enders\, as well as equality in outcomes — such as the fair distribution
of power and resources. The event’s concept of gender equality includes
gender diversity and recognises that\, in addition to gender\, other di
fferences also affect a person’s position in society (intersectionality)
.</p> \n<p>Equality as a basic right\, as understood in the context of t
he event\, means that all people are of equal value regardless of their
 gender\, age\, ethnic or national origin\, nationality\, language\, reli
gion or belief\, opinion\, disability\, state of health\, sexual orienta
 tion\, or any other personal characteristic.</p> \n<h2><a></a>Principles
for a Safer Space</h2> \n<p>The goal is for everyone to be able to part
icipate in the event safely and as their authentic selves\, without fear
of inappropriate treatment or harassment. A safe social space is create
d through mutual interaction\, and every participant at the Gender Equal
ity Days shares responsibility for maintaining it. </p> \n<p>By register
 ing\, participants commit to the following principles:</p> \n<ul> \n <li
 >Respect others' experiences and self-identification.</li> \n <li>Be ope
n and listen. Do not make assumptions about someone’s identity\, experie
nces\, thoughts or situation.</li> \n <li>Do not generalize your own exp
erience as being universal.</li> \n <li>Do not harass anyone verbally\,
physically\, or by staring. Stop or change your behaviour if someone ask
 s you to.</li> \n <li>Do not make insulting remarks about anyone\, wheth
er they be present or absent. It is possible to debate and disagree with
out offending anyone personally.</li> \n <li>If you encounter behaviour
that violates the principles\, reach out to the host\, organisers\, or o
ther participants.</li> \n</ul> \n<p>The organisers are responsible for
the safety of the event\, and you can ask them for help in resolving sit
uations. Organisers and harrassment contact persons are introduced at th
e beginning of the event. </p> \n<p>A person who violates these principl
es may be asked to leave the event venue if they do not correct their be
 haviour after a warning.</p> \n<h2><a></a>Contact</h2> \n<p>If you have
