Avsikten är att garantera fri rörlighet inom EU även om coronaläget skulle bli sämre. Myndiga personers vaccinationsintyg föråldras efter 270 dagar (ca 9 månader) efter det sista vaccinet i grundvaccinationen. Tills vidare begränsas inte giltighetstiden för vaccinationsintyget efter den tredje vaccindosen.
