Detta ledde till att dödligheten inom 30 dygn från covid-19-smittan ökade, men vid månadsskiftet april-maj började den tydligt sjunka igen. Trots det höga antalet smittfall har dödligheten bland de som fått tre vaccindoser hållits på en klart lägre nivå jämfört med den övriga befolkningen.
