  2. COVID-19 vaccination certificates for people aged under 18 no longer subject to time limit after primary vaccination series when used for travel - Ministry of Social Affairs and Health

    31.3.2022 | In future, EU COVID-19 vaccination certificates used for travel purposes will remain valid until further notice for those under the age of 18 who have completed the full primary vaccination series (usually two doses). COVID-19 vaccination certificates for adults expire when 270 days, i.e. about nine months, have passed from the last dose of the primary vaccination series. As of yet, no acceptance period applies to certificates issued following the administration of booster doses.

  3. European Child Guarantee implemented as part of the National Child Strategy in Finland - Ministry of Social Affairs and Health

    25.4.2022 | The European Commission adopted an EU Strategy on the Rights of the Child in spring 2021, recommending that Member States introduce a European Child Guarantee. The Child Guarantee seeks to support particularly vulnerable children and their families, and to help channel investment in child wellbeing. Finland is realising the Child Guarantee as part of work related to the National Child Strategy, which has aligned with policies of the EU Strategy on the Rights of the Child from the very outset.

In his decision, the Deputy Chancellor of Justice considered that the age limits concerning custodians’ right to act on behalf of their children in the My Kanta Pages do not meet the conditions set out in the Act on the Status and Rights of Patients.

  5. Situational picture and modelling group publishes its last report on COVID-19 epidemic for now - Ministry of Social Affairs and Health

    2.6.2022 | The term of the group responsible for the situational picture and modelling of the COVID-19 epidemic ends in June 2022. The situational assessment report, published every other week, has monitored the development of the epidemic and the measures taken to curb the epidemic, but it will be put on hold for now.   8. Restaurant restrictions to be lifted as of 1 March - Ministry of Social Affairs and Health

    24.2.2022 | The Government has on repealed section 3, subsection 3 and sections 4 and 6 of the decree (1223/2021) that restricts the activities of food and beverage service businesses due to the COVID-19 epidemic. This means that the restrictions on the opening and alcohol serving hours as well as restrictions on the number of customers and customer seats in restaurants will be lifted.

    8.7.2022 | Finland donated around 400,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses to the people of Nicaragua. The donated doses arrived at their destination in early July. Finland is committed to international vaccine solidarity and places particular emphasis on the right of the most vulnerable people to receive COVID-19 vaccines.

  14. Number of COVID-19 patients requiring hospital care declining - Ministry of Social Affairs and Health

    5.5.2022 | The number of COVID-19 patients in specialised and primary healthcare started to decline in April. The results of wastewater monitoring also indicate a downward trend in the epidemic. A fourth vaccine dose is recommended for people aged 12 or over who have a severely weakened immune system, people aged 80 or over and all older people living in residential care homes.

  16. Social- och hälsovårdsministeriet begär utlåtanden om förslaget att höja de nedre åldersgränserna på vissa FPA-förmåner från 16 år till 18 år - Social- och hälsovårdsministeriet

    26.6.2024 | I utkastet till regeringens proposition föreslås det att den nedre åldersgränsen för folkpension, garantipension, sjukdagpenning och FPA:s rehabiliteringspenningförmåner ska höjas till 18 år. Detsamma föreslås också för de förmåner som är avsedda för personer med funktionsnedsättning. Remisstiden går ut den 7 augusti 2024.
