  5. Number of new COVID-19 cases declining - Ministry of Social Affairs and Health

    26.8.2021 | The number of new COVID-19 cases seems to have started to fall in Finland. The total number of new cases reported between 16 and 22 August was 4,334. This is about 800 cases fewer than in the preceding week when the figure was 5,176. However, the number of new cases remains high, and COVID-19 continues to spread especially among unvaccinated young people and adults.

  6. I fortsättningen gäller EU:s covidintyg i fråga om vaccinationerna i 9 månader vid resor - Social- och hälsovårdsministeriet

    31.1.2022 | Från ingången av februari 2022 godkänns EU:s covidintyg i fråga om vaccinationerna endast under 9 månader vid resor, dvs. i 270 dagar efter att man fått det sista vaccinet i grundserien. Tills vidare begränsar man inte giltighetstiden för intyget efter den tredje vaccindosen.

Detta ledde till att dödligheten inom 30 dygn från covid-19-smittan ökade, men vid månadsskiftet april-maj började den tydligt sjunka igen. Trots det höga antalet smittfall har dödligheten bland de som fått tre vaccindoser hållits på en klart lägre nivå jämfört med den övriga befolkningen. Över hälften av befolkningen över 80 år har fått den fjärde vaccindosen.

    21.9.2021 | The Government has submitted to Parliament a proposal for extending the validity of the temporary provisions of the Communicable Diseases Act concerning entry into the country. The provisions aim to protect the health of the population by preventing COVID-19 infections of foreign origin from spreading into Finland. Health security measures similar to those proposed by the Government are in place in many EU countries.

    9.7.2020 | The amendments made to the Communicable Diseases Act enable the development of a mobile application that helps break the chains of coronavirus (COVID-19) transmission more effectively. The Government submitted the bill amending the Communicable Diseases Act for approval and the President of the Republic approved the bill on Thursday 9 July.
