Sosiaali- ja terveysministeriö on koordinoinut osaltaan EU:n kertaluonteisesta elpymisvälineestä (Next Generation EU) rahoitettavaa Suomen kestävän kasvun ohjelmaa. Vanhus- ja eläkeläisasioiden neuvottelukunta toimii sosiaali- ja terveysministeriön yhteydessä. Valtioneuvosto asettaa neuvottelukunnan kolmeksi vuodeksi kerrallaan.
