Coronavirus prevention in Finland - Restrictive measures are lifted gradually

The Government announced 16.3.2020 that there is a state of emergency in the country as a result of the coronavirus outbreak. The aim is to protect the population and to safeguard the functioning of society and the economy.

On Sunday 3 May and today 4 May, the Government held an informal meeting to discuss an action plan for a hybrid strategy to manage the coronavirus crisis and for ways of gradually lifting the restrictive measures.

In the coronavirus situation, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health issues the official instructions concerning healthcare and social welfare to municipalities, hospital districts, Regional State Administrative Agencies and other relevant parties.
